Crocheted Flowers for Valentine's Day

After the craze with loom bands, I found myself hooked with crocheting. I have done coasters and doilies since I went back to the hobby a couple of months ago.

I am now trying my hands on home decorations and hair accessories. I am watching this video on how to crochet flowers when my daughter suggested to make some and she will give it to her teacher on Valentine's Day, instead of buying a gift for her.

Ligas 1 Drum and Lyre Performs in the City Meet Opening Ceremony

Our school's Drum and Lyre Corps performed in the Opening Ceremony of the District Athletic Meet last month, together with three other drum and lyre bands from other schools.

Among the four drum and lyre bands who performed, two of them will be chosen to play for the Parade of Colors on the Opening Ceremony of the Bacoor City Athletic Meet.

When the principal announced that we are one of the drum and lyre bands who will perform in the Opening Ceremony and Parade of Colors, they were all proud of themselves as they really gave their best during the District Meet.

The 2014 District Speech Festival of Talents

Two weeks ago, my eldest son Joma came home with the news that he joined the Oration Contest in school, where the winner will represent the school and compete in the district level of competition.

Modesty aside, my eldest son often gets chosen to represent their school in the district and division level competitions so it has become a normal thing for us when he says he will compete and represent their school in a particular contest. I am glad the teachers played a different rule this time. The other students are given the equal opportunity to show off their talents and skills.

The Drum and Lyre Corps in the District Meet Opening Ceremony

It was understandable when the members of the Drum and Lyre Corps got upset after the confirmation that there won't be any Drum and Lyre Competition in Bakood 2014.

But their disappointment vanished in the air when they were informed that they will be performing in the opening ceremony of the Bacoor II District Meet. Finally, they will be able to showcase their talent!

Everybody was excited! Even my kids did not hesitate to wake up as early as 4AM to prepare for the parade and the program. It was surprising that I did not hear any complain. No tantrum was thrown. How I wish our mornings will always be like this!
